Vasile and Adam installed a difficult marble tile over a red brick fireplace. They were on time, respectful of myself and my home and very quiet! They installed Schluter edging perfectly and had great attention to detail, were careful and efficient. I wouldn’t hesitate to hire them again, and would absolutely recommend Savu to anyone wanting skilled tile workers for a very fair price.

Vasile and Adam were amazing!!! They were extremely kind and helpful, even ran to the store and bought some new supplies (when I got the wrong thing). They were a pleasure to have around, very considerate and diligent, and they did amazing work!! They took the time to talk through what I wanted and certainly delivered. Vasile and Adam were wonderful! Very fast quoting/estimate process and clear list of materials. On install day, they provided several different options for the kitchen backsplash tile layout and talked through exactly how I wanted it to look. They were extremely clean and didn’t leave any mess. They even put on all my plate covers and made sure everything was picture perfect before they left. I am extremely happy with the final product and I can’t wait to call them again for my next tile project. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for high-quality professional work at a great price.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answered by our professional bathroom tile installers

There are many different types of bathroom tiles that you can choose from, including:

  1. Ceramic tile: This is a popular choice for bathroom walls and floors because it is durable, water-resistant, and easy to clean. It is also available in a wide range of colors, styles, and sizes.

  2. Porcelain tile: This type of tile is similar to ceramic tile, but it is made from a denser, harder clay. It is also water-resistant and easy to clean, making it a good choice for bathroom walls and floors.

  3. Glass tile: This type of tile is made from pieces of glass that are cut into shapes and mounted on a mesh backing. It is available in a wide range of colors and styles, and it can be used on walls or backsplashes.

  4. Natural stone tile: This includes tiles made from materials such as granite, marble, and slate. Natural stone tiles are more expensive than other types of tiles, but they are also more durable and can add a luxurious look to a bathroom.

  5. Mosaic tile: This type of tile is made up of small, individual tiles that are mounted on a mesh backing. Mosaic tiles are available in a wide range of colors, styles, and materials, and they can be used to create intricate patterns or designs on walls or backsplashes.

The best tiles design for a bathroom will depend on the overall style and aesthetic of the room, as well as the specific needs and preferences of the homeowner. Here are a few design ideas to consider when selecting tiles for a bathroom:

  1. Subway tiles: These classic tiles feature a rectangular shape and a glossy finish, and they are available in a wide range of colors. They can be used on walls or backsplashes to create a clean, modern look.

  2. Mosaic tiles: These tiles are made up of small, individual tiles that are mounted on a mesh backing. They are available in a wide range of colors, styles, and materials, and they can be used to create intricate patterns or designs on walls or backsplashes.

  3. Natural stone tiles: These tiles are made from materials such as granite, marble, and slate, and they can add a luxurious, natural look to a bathroom. They are more expensive than other types of tiles, but they are also more durable.

  4. Hexagonal tiles: These tiles have a hexagonal shape and can be used to create a unique, geometric pattern on walls or floors. They are available in a wide range of colors and styles.

  5. Wood-look tiles: These tiles are made from a durable, water-resistant material and are designed to mimic the look of natural wood. They can be used on walls or floors to add warmth and texture to a bathroom.

Using small tiles in a small bathroom can be a good way to make the space feel larger and more open. Small tiles, such as mosaic tiles, can be used to create a sense of continuity and to help the space feel more cohesive.

However, it is important to note that smaller tiles may be more difficult to install and may not be as durable as larger tiles. They may also be more expensive to purchase, as they require more tiles to cover the same area.

Porcelain tile is generally not considered to be slippery when wet, but it is always a good idea to use caution when walking on any type of wet tile. Some porcelain tiles may have a smoother finish and may be more slippery when wet, while others may have a more textured surface and may be more slip-resistant.

Both porcelain and ceramic tiles are popular choices for bathroom walls and floors, and both have their own unique benefits. Here are a few key differences between porcelain and ceramic tiles:

  1. Composition: Porcelain tiles are made from a denser, harder clay than ceramic tiles. This makes them more resistant to water and moisture, and they are often used in areas that are prone to moisture, such as bathrooms and kitchens. Ceramic tiles are also made from clay, but they are generally not as dense or hard as porcelain tiles.

  2. Durability: Porcelain tiles are generally more durable than ceramic tiles, due to their denser composition. They are less prone to chipping, cracking, and staining, and they can hold up better under heavy foot traffic.

  3. Water resistance: Both porcelain and ceramic tiles are water-resistant, but porcelain tiles are more resistant to moisture and are often used in areas with higher humidity, such as showers.

  4. Cost: Porcelain tiles are generally more expensive than ceramic tiles, due to their denser composition and greater durability.

In conclusion, porcelain tile is the superior choice for bathroom floors and walls. When compared to ceramic, porcelain is much better equipped for wet bathroom areas. It’s also easier to maintain and more durable than ceramic tile.
